Mary Frances Jones, 93 of 211 Holiday Street, Suffolk, transitioned Monday, May 23, 2016, at Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was a native of Isle of Wight County and the daughter of Daniel Dawson and Lurena Blunt. She was preceded in death by her husband, General Lee Jones.

She retired as a domestic worker. Ms. Jones was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Maude Lurena Murray (Clifton), of Raleigh, N.C., Barbara Jean Richardson (Roy), of Suffolk, and Annie Oakley Hargrove (John), of McDonough, Ga.; six sons, William Henry Jones (Mildred Faye), Gene Autry Jones, Jessie Lee Jones (Mildred Lee), all of Suffolk, Melvin Lewis Jones, of Wilson, N.C., Jimmy Lee Jones (Ella Louise), of Freeport, N.Y. and Ralph Tiger Jones (Roxanne), of Newport News; sister, Maggie Carter, of Philadelphia, Pa.; 42 grandchildren, 96 great-grandchildren, 49 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lizzie Faulcon Murphy; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Piney Grove Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Larry Parker. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be Friday, June 3, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
