A second person involved in Monday’s fatal crash on Nansemond Parkway has succumbed to her injuries.

Tracey A. Bender, 44, died Thursday. She had been in critical condition at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Her daughter, Kristin Bender, 22, died at the scene of Monday’s accident, which took place at 5:46 p.m. in the 2700 block of Nansemond Parkway. It was a head-on collision between a Hyundai Accent and a Honda Accord.

An adult male in the other vehicle was treated at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening.

City spokeswoman Diana Klink said Wednesday that the investigation is still ongoing, and the accident report will not be available for several weeks.
