Police investigate shooting

The Suffolk Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that left one person injured.
At 12:12 a.m. Wednesday, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving recklessly in the area of the 1200 block of North Main Street, according to a city press release.
The officer discovered that a passenger in the vehicle was suffering from a gunshot wound and had allegedly been robbed. City spokeswoman Diana Klink said they were on their way to take the victim to the hospital.
The victim, an adult male, received emergency medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel and was taken by ground ambulance to an area hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Klink said detectives are continuing their investigation into the case and do not have a suspect or motive at this time. She also could not say where the reported robbery and shooting occurred. No further information was available.
