Lawrence Battle Carpenter Jr., 78, of 211 Shannonhouse Road, Edenton, N.C., died Thursday, July 28, 2016 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City. A funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home and Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be officiated by Minister Bobby Cohoon. A private burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park in Franklin. Friends may join the family Saturday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home, and other times at Becky and Toby’s home, 204 Shannonhouse Road, Edenton.
