Addie J. Wilson peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at her residence. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Edward and Cassie Tate Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wilson; three sisters, Lillian Alston, Arthalia Brown, Hattie Outlaw, Pecola Porter; and one brother, Louis Jones.

She was a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church, where she served on the Senior Usher Board and a member of the Daughters of Saint Paul.

She leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends.

Although she was given medical aid and care, Our Heavenly Father’s will must be done, for this is not our abiding place; and we bow in humble submission to his will, for he does all things well.

A celebration of life will be held at noon, Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at Saint Paul Baptist Church officiated by Bishop Clarence V. Russell III. Visitation with the family will take place Thursday, Aug. 4 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
