Harvey Daniel Dunning Sr., age 79, passed away on Sept. 4, 2016, at The Springs of Hot Springs.

Mr. Dunning was born in Bertie County on March 11, 1937, a son of the late Harvey L. and Annie Williams Dunning. Harvey was retired from the maintenance department of Planters Peanuts in Suffolk, where he worked for many years.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty L. Dunning.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Harvey Dunning Jr. and wife, Michele, of Suffolk, Linwood E. Russell and wife, Andrea, of Suffolk; his daughter, Betty Jean Sightler, of Gates, N.C.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Colerain, N.C.
