Emily Jane Holcombe, 63, passed away on Sept. 1, 2016. She was born in Suffolk to the late C.J. Holcombe Jr. and Amy R. Holcombe. Emily was a graduate of Longwood University and received a master’s degree from Old Dominion University. She was a teacher in the Suffolk Public Schools at Forest Glen and Lakeland high schools.

Emily is survived by a brother, Clifton Holcombe (Leslie), of Peoria, Ariz.; a niece, Allison Holcombe (Tom Johnson); and two grand-nieces, Alice and Ruth Johnson, of Los Angeles, Calif.; a nephew, Christopher Holcombe (Molly), of Washington, D.C.; plus numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a future date. Interment will be private.
