To the editor:

I would like to comment on the recent column Res Spears wrote on the election (“Neither candidate can heal America” Aug. 14, 2016).

Mr. Spears said he would have to stand before God and explain why he voted for evil if he were to vote for either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton in this year’s presidential election. I would like to tell Mr. Spears that God will not ask him this, but He will ask him: “Why didn’t you vote? Why did you let wicked people to rule over innocent people?”

I would like to say to Mr. Spears, that he must choose the lesser of the evils, and the lesser evil is Trump, which then should clarify the greater evil.

I am ashamed of Mr. Spears for what he wrote.
