Stolen vehicle crashes

Suffolk police are investigating an accident on Thursday that involved a stolen vehicle.
At about 1:46 p.m., Suffolk police received information on a possible stolen vehicle that was traveling westbound on Route 58 into the city of Suffolk, according to a city press release.
Officers observed the Dodge Nitro taking the Pitchkettle Road exit, the press release stated. The vehicle then continued onto Kings Fork Road, where it disregarded a red light at the intersection of Pruden Boulevard and struck a Jeep Wrangler, causing minor damage to the Jeep.
Immediately following the accident, all four occupants of the Dodge Nitro fled the vehicle on foot. Officers were able to apprehend all of the occupants, three males and one female, approximately 100 yards from the accident scene.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue also responded, and there were no injuries.
The vehicle was found to have been stolen from Newport News, according to the press release. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
