Grand jury indicts 42

A Newport News man has been indicted on another charge stemming from a bank robbery in Carrollton in March.

Demarco Antonio McMullen, 25, was indicted by a Suffolk grand jury this week on a charge of eluding police.

McMullen is accused of robbing the Carrollton branch of Langley Federal Credit Union on March 17. Suffolk police later spotted the suspect on Bridge Road and initiated a pursuit, which ended in Chesapeake after a short foot chase.

McMullen’s charges in Isle of Wight Circuit Court from the Carrollton robbery are pending a mental health review, according to an online court system.

McMullen also has charges pending from a Suffolk robbery on March 10 at the Xenith Bank in the 1000 block of North Main Street.

The grand jury handed down indictments Monday against 42 defendants on 112 charges. The full grand jury list is below.
