Due to rain and high winds forecast for the weekend, the Suffolk Peanut Festival will be closed Saturday and Sunday.

Some of the larger activities, such as the Mud Jam and the Suffolk Swamp Roar Motorcycle Rally, will be held at a later date to be announced in the coming weeks, according to a press release from the Suffolk Peanut Festival.

“While Suffolk Festivals Inc. regrets having to cancel the remainder of the event, the safety of the attendees, vendors and volunteers remains a priority for the event organizers,” the press release stated.

Updates on rescheduled events will be announced at suffolkpeanutfest.com and facebook.com/suffolkpeanutfest.
