No injuries in two-alarm fire

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a fire in a storage room at Tabernacle Gardens Assisted Living Facility on Tuesday evening.
The fire was reported at 7:42 p.m. Capt. Barney Howard said Engine 3 company encountered light smoke showing from a storage room when they arrived, according to a press release. The sprinkler system had already been activated.
Residents at the facility were already evacuating the building when firefighters arrived. Crews searched room to room and assisted two residents out of the building. All 53 residents and two staff members were accounted for, and there were no injuries. No one was displaced.
The Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate the cause of the fire, according to the city press release.
