Following are this week’s nominees for the Duke Automotive-Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

Fransee Jordan, sophomore for King’s Fork High School volleyball: Jordan’s serving in both of the Lady Bulldogs’ games this week helped propel them to 2-0 with victories over Lake Taylor and Wilson. Each game was won in three sets.

Ariana Samuel, senior for Nansemond River High School field hockey: Samuel scored four goals and assisted two this week, including a hat trick in a 6-0 win against rival King’s Fork. The Lady Warriors went 2-0 for the week, beating their opponents by a combined score of 13-0.

Tyquan Holloman, sophomore for Lakeland High School football: Holloman had 48 all-purpose yards and a touchdown against Hickory High School in a 21-0 homecoming victory. The Cavs are 5-2.
