To the editor:

I am happy to be writing this letter in support of the reelection of Councilman Roger Fawcett to Suffolk City Council.

I have known Roger for three years in his present capacity of councilman representing the Sleepy Hole Borough.

During that time, he has been a staunch advocate for public education. He has fought to make sure that the two schools on the northern end of the city would be built immediately and that the middle school would house 800 students.

He also strongly advocated for a pay raise that helped us retain teachers who had been leaving the school system.

Roger has continued to be a strong advocate for Suffolk Public Schools, and he supports bringing teacher salaries up to levels that are equitable with other school systems.
