The Chesapeake Bay Group of the Sierra Club has chosen to endorse Kerry Holmes for mayor of Suffolk.

The Sierra Club is one of the oldest and most influential grassroots environmental organizations in the United States. We set the bar very high for giving our endorsements.

Our endorsement decision includes a review of the candidates’ environmental platforms and answers to questions, which were delivered at our candidates’ forum on Sept. 28.

We highly value Mr. Holmes’ dedication to the protection of the natural resources for Suffolk, and we are confident that he will safeguard the quality of the land and waters of Suffolk.
