Make Halloween a Saturday event

To the editor:

As a concerned parent, I would like to endorse making Halloween a day that’s celebrated the last Saturday of October, instead of the regular day that it falls on.

When Halloween falls on a school night, it interferes with schooling.

If we were to have Halloween on Saturday, trick-or-treating could be held from around 1 to 4 p.m. It would be much safer for the kids and give the little ones a chance to show their pretty costumes so everyone could see them. It also would be much warmer at that time of day, rather than the evening, when trick or treating takes place now.

Maybe the change would bring more children out to have fun.
