The Hampton Roads Realtors Association has announced its endorsements for City Council elections in Suffolk.
Mayor Linda Johnson, Nansemond Borough candidate Ben Fitzgerald and Sleepy Hole Borough candidate Ray Batton all have received the association’s endorsements.
Through HRRA’s Government Affairs Committee, invitations were sent to all announced candidates for completion of written responses to questions about their candidacy, campaign priorities and critical issues for local Realtors, according to a press release from the organization.
Those who returned the questionnaires were invited to discuss these and other issues with an HRRA panel, which included the Government Affairs Committee, HRRPAC trustees and other active members.
The panelists individually rated the candidates based on their interviews and written responses and, using these ratings as a starting point, reached a consensus recommendation to the HRRPAC trustees, the press release stated.
In turn, the trustees reviewed their recommendations and forwarded them to the HRRA Board of Directors. Those recommendations were adopted by all.
