NSA volleyball receives honors

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy volleyball team still is in conference tournament play and already is receiving awards. Livi Bono was named player of the year in the TCIS conference, and two of her fellow Lady Saints were named all-conference.

Bono accomplished this in a season where she also surpassed 1,000 kills for her career.

Bono was joined on the first team with Logan Harrell. Harrell also enjoyed a successful season at NSA, where she became the all-time leader in digs. Nicole Wright was named to the second-team.

“I was really excited when I find out I made first team,” Harrell said. “I’m extremely proud of Livi and Nicole as well. Our team works really hard, so this recognition feels good, and I know that our team has earned it.”

“I’m really honored to be recognized from other coaches for my hard work,” Wright said. “I’m proud of my team.”

The Lady Saints will be in the semi-finals of the TCIS tournament at 5 p.m. Nov. 4 at Cape Henry. The final is set for Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. at Cape Henry.
