To the editor:

On Oct. 28, the Suffolk Education Foundation had its annual golf tournament at Sleepy Hole Golf Course.

I wanted to personally thank John “J.T.” Belcher for his professionalism, positive attitude and cooperative spirit. From the early planning to the day of the event, J.T. was just wonderful to work with. The golf course is beautiful with its scenic views of the Nansemond River. It was a fun time for all of our golfers.
I also wanted to thank all of our sponsors and golfers who participated and helped to make this event such a success.
Suffolk Education Foundation uses the funds from our annual golf tournament to help fund student scholarships and teacher grants. Our preliminary numbers show that we have raised more than $15,000 for this year’s tournament.
Thank you again, J.T., for making our first experience at Sleepy Hole a great one. I look forward to working with you at next year’s tournament on Oct. 20, 2017.
