Glenn Michael “Mike” Adams, 65, passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at home surrounded by his family. He was born Oct. 19, 1951, to the late Joseph E. Adams Jr. and Myrtle Mae “Polly” Twine Adams. He was predeceased by his brother, John Earl Adams.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan Diane Parker Adams; his three sons, Glenn Ray Adams (Susan), Dean Michael Adams (Leslie) and Kent Nelson Adams (Becky) all of Suffolk; five grandchildren, Samantha (Adam), Haley, Bryleigh, Peyton and Cody; two sisters, Brenda A. Smith (Sammy), Tricia A. Powers (Andy); two brothers, Randy Adams and Billy Ray Adams (John); his aunt, Betty Twine; cousin, Lin T. Kemp (John); his loving brothers and sisters-in-laws; and his many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

He was employed by Angus I. Hines Inc. (Sentry Services) as a service technician from June 1970 until January 2009. He was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church and an active deacon and member for many years. He was also a member of the Fellowship Sunday School class.

A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Western Branch Baptist Church, 6952 Old Myrtle Road, Suffolk, VA 23434, by the Rev. Micah Voight with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Western Branch Baptist Church (Siding Fund) at the above address, or to the American Cancer Society.
