Warriors split games

Briana Autrey had a triple-double for the Lady Warriors as they defeated Oscar Smith High School on Tuesday night. She had 10 points, 13 steals, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Lady Warriors. Nansemond River High School also got a big contribution from Cassidy Simmons, who had 13 points, eight steals and six boards. The Lady Warriors defeated Oscar Smith 40-21.

The boys’ basketball team lost to Oscar Smith 82-55. At halftime, the score was 37-33 before the Tigers ran off with the game in the second half. Dy’Quan McGhee had 10 points. Gerard Stringer added 11 points and four rebounds off of the bench.

Nansemond River’s boys’ basketball team will play at home against Ocean Lakes at 7 p.m. Thursday. Both the girls’ and boys’ teams play Friday against Deep Creek. The boys will play at Deep Creek while the girls will play at home. The games start at 7 p.m.
