Louise Piland Snook

Louise Piland “MA” Snook, 78, went to be with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, on Nov. 30, 2016. She was born in Nansemond County, to the late Richard Roland Piland and Flossie Joe Smith. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles Orie Snook, and sister-in-law, Carol Piland. She worked in the finance department of Suffolk City Public Schools as a payroll manager. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church, where she served as deaconess, Sunday school teacher and numerous other committees. She was a spiritual prayer warrior and led Bible study. Her hobbies included her grandkids, great-grandkids, gardening, reading, crocheting, fishing and lending a helping hand to others.

“MA” is survived by her daughter, Jenny Snook Price (Alex); son, Barry Keith Snook (Sharon); grandchildren, Melissa Snook Rose (Patrick), Matthew Alex Price and Brandon Keith Snook; great-grandchildren, Kylie Marie Rose and Declan Archer Rose; brothers, William Quinton “Billy” Piland and Richard “Ronald” Piland; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Snook “Sissy” Wilhide; and numerous nieces and nephews, who are loved dearly.

Her funeral will be Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Bethlehem Christian Church with Pastor Matthew Winters officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.
