June Rebecca Moore Holland, 86, passed away Dec. 9, 2016. She was born on July 15, 1930, in Portsmouth, to the late Arthur Wesley Moore Sr. and Florence Skinner Moore. June was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Clifton Hunter Holland, and sister, Jean M. O’Berry. She was a retired teacher’s aide with the Suffolk City School System. June was a lifetime member and deaconess emeritus of Liberty Spring Christian Church, Ladies Bible Class, taught nursery and was the former chairman of the Deacon’s Board and Official Board. She was also past president and a member of the Women’s Fellowship, and formerly served on the E.V.U.C.C. Board.

June is survived by her daughters, Linda H. Ward (Jimmy), Janet H. Britt (Joe); sons, W. Randolph Holland (Nancy), Aubrey H. Holland (Janice); grandchildren, Craig Lowell (Stacey), Michelle L. Ellis, W. Scott Holland (Paige), Cindy Devers (David), Jacob Daughtrey, Whitney Holland (Mike), Amanda Daughtrey; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Womack; brother, Arthur Wesley Moore Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at Liberty Spring Christian Church, 4213 Whaleyville Blvd., Suffolk, VA 23434 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Allen Lancaster and Pastors Matt Winters and Chris Surber officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Lake Prince Woods and Interim Hospice for their wonderful care.
