Mamie J. Wiggins, 95, of South Main Street, Suffolk, transitioned Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Florence Smith and Willis Jones. She is preceded in death by her husband, George E. Wiggins.

She leave to cherish her memory two daughters, Jean Riddick and Sylvia Wiggins, both of Suffolk; four sons, Clifton Jones, George T. Wiggins (Beulah), Elliott L. Wiggins (Cheryl), all of Suffolk and the Rev. William D. Wiggins (Mary), of Gates, N.C.; sister, Margaret Boone, of Gates, N.C.; sister-in-law, Lillian Jones, of Suffolk; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at noon Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2016, at Palm Tree Baptist Church, 8165 Whaleyville Blvd., Suffolk. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
