Tanisha Denise Jones, 36, affectionately known as “Pooh,” passed away on Jan. 12, 2017. She was born on Aug. 31, 1980, in Suffolk.

A native of Suffolk, Pooh was a 1999 graduate of Nansemond River High School.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gary “Bo Mo” Moore.

Tanisha leaves behind to celebrate her memory, her beloved son, Kendrick Khalil Amarion Jones; mother, Valeria D. Jones; brothers, Guyron Jones and Gary Clemon (Tulissa); maternal grandmother, Rebecca Johnson; paternal grandmother, Ruby Moore; aunts, Ruby Tucker (Louis), Sandra A. Smith, Brenda A. Jones, Deborah Parker (Jerome), Cynthia Myrick, Nakita Myrick, and Tracy Cross; uncles, Walter R. Moore Jr. (Judith), Freddie Goodman, the Rev. Emmanuel Myrick (Elayne), Vincent Thorne, Anthony Thorne and Kevin Myrick; and a host of other family and friends.

Miss Jones’ visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries Church, 307 County St., and she will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
