Player of the Week nominees

Following are this week’s nominees for the Duke Automotive-Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

  • Kelly Hogan, senior for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy basketball: Hogan helped the Lady Saints basketball team to a 2-1 week. NSA had wins over Norfolk Collegiate and Bishop Sullivan. In those wins, Hogan had 23 points and 15 rebounds against Bishop Sullivan and 31 points and 14 rebounds over Norfolk Collegiate.
  • Brandon Eubanks, junior for Nansemond River High School swimming: Eubanks had several first-place finishes in a good week for Nansemond River’s boys’ swim team, which included wins over Great Bridge and a 110-60 first-ever win over Western Branch’s swim team. He was a part of seven first-place events and one second-place event in two meets.
  • Amesha Miller, senior for King’s Fork High School basketball: Miller had a game-high 17 points in the Lady Bulldogs win over Deep Creek last week. She also has a 23-point, 12-rebound performance in a win against Great Bridge. The Lady Bulldogs went 2-1 for the week last week.
