An 81-year-old man is dead following a moped accident on Indian Trail Road Monday afternoon.

The crash was reported at 12:22 p.m., according to a city press release. A citizen came upon the accident and contacted police.

Cleveland Lee Foster, of Windsor, was pronounced deceased at the scene, the release stated. Preliminary investigation showed the moped left the roadway, and the driver and moped were located in a ditch.

The roadway reopened about 3:39 p.m., according to the release. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
