Nansemond River swim teams place third

Brandon Eubanks and Allen Zachary were both conference champions in individual events for Nansemond River High School swimming last Friday. Eubanks won the 500-yard freestyle. Zachary won the 100-yard breaststroke.

Nansemond River High School’s swim teams competed in the Conference 10 swim tournament last Friday, and both teams finished third of seven teams.

There were 22 events swam at the event. There were 34 individual region qualifiers and six relay region qualifiers.

Regionals will take place Feb. 9 at Midtown Aquatics Center in Newport News at 3:30 p.m.

100 Yard Breaststroke Conference Champion — 1:00.33 State Qualifying Time.

200 Yard Freestyle Conference Runner-up (2nd place) — 1:43.23 State Qualifying Time.
