Darryl D. Matthews, 37, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017. He was born on Jan. 31, 1980.

A native of Suffolk, he attended Lakeland High School.

Darryl leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved daughter, Amia Matthews; mother, Roxanne Matthews-Johnson (Leroy); father, Donald E. Cherry; sister, Cheryl Saunders; special brother, Randy Matthews; grandmother, Virginia B. Cherry; aunts, Alice D. Matthews, Lauretta Halsey, Joyce Cherry, Judith Smith and Marcella Cherry; uncles, Rodney Matthews, Richard Porter, John Halsey, Leroy Cherry (Bernice), Paul Cherry (Shante), James Cherry (Faye), Edward Cherry and Wayne Thorne; and a host of other family and friends.

A visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church, and he will be laid to rest at Holly Lawn Cemetery.
