NRHS swimming competes at state meet

Nansemond River High School swam in the 5A state meet last weekend at George Mason University. Results for NRHS in the state meet are listed below.

The boys’ 200 freestyle relay finished 16th in the state, improving two positions from its 18th seed. The team included Zachery Whear, Andrew Betts (swam Prelims), Keagan DeLong, Hunter Ward and Brandon Eubanks (swam Finals).

Brandon Eubanks finished 24th in the 500-yard freestyle.

Selby Heyman finished 22nd in the 100-yard backstroke.

Allen Zachary was unable to attend the meet due to a knee injury but was seeded third in the state in the 50 freestyle and ninth in the 100 butterfly coming into the 5A state championship meet. Zachary owned the 5A South region record in the 50 freestyle.
