To the editor:

I recently read the article “Think clearly about school plans” and it caught my attention.

I think that it is a wonderful that the Isle of Wight County schools are expecting an overhaul. Those possible programs seem terrific.

I am also glad to hear that several people support the expansion. I believe that if the public could get behind this initiative and really support our local educational programs, we will start to build a society that takes care of each other.

While I understand that the burden of extra taxes will not be easy or enjoyable for anyone, the payoff will be well worth it. If everyone buys into this idea and this process, then an extra few dollars per household should be a heartwarming investment.

This is an investment, after all — an investment into the next generation, which is one of the most important things that each individual can do.

This should be a source of pride for all, as we are trying to leave Western Tidewater, America and the world better off than we got it.
