Player of the Week nominees

Following are this week’s nominees for the Duke Automotive-Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:
- Camary Harris, junior for King’s Fork High School basketball: Harris scored 12 points in a win for the Lady Bulldogs against Carroll County High School in the first round of the 4A state tournament, helping them to the 4A state semifinals.
- Syaira Richardson, senior for Nansemond River High School track: Richardson placed first in all four of her events, helping Nansemond River to another 5A indoor state championship. She also broke meet records in all four events, which included the 55-meter dash, 300-meter dash, long jump and the 4×400, where she ran the anchor leg.
- Darren Daughtrey, senior for Lakeland High School track: Daughtrey was part of a Lakeland 4×200 team that won states. He also placed third in the state in the 55-meter hurdles. He placed seventh in the long jump with a personal best time.
