Brian K. Rountree

Brian Keith Rountree, 48, a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, passed away suddenly on March 16, 2017, at his home. Born in Suffolk, Brian was a 1987 graduate of Forest Glen High School and was a farm supervisor with the Virginia Department of Corrections in Greensville. He was a member of Joyner United Methodist Church.

Brian was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Indiantown Hunt Club and was a master “project piddler” who always had a work in progress.

Brian leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Donna Barnes Rountree; his parents, Wilbur and Shirley Parker Rountree; two precious daughters, Emily Brooke Rountree and Erin Olivia Rountree; sister, Pam R. Goodman, her husband, Tommy, and their son, Chad, of Suffolk; father-in-law, Paul C. Barnes; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Elliott (David) and Patsy Kanusek (Johnny); brother-in-law, Mike Barnes; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Julie Larch officiating. Burial will be in Capron Cemetery with a reception following at Joyner United Methodist Church. The family received friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made to Joyner United Methodist Church, 18084 Clubhouse Road, Capron, VA 23829. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
