Lady Warrior Briana Autrey made history this year by becoming the girls’ basketball player to reach the 1,000-point threshold the fastest in school history.
Nansemond River High School’s girls’ basketball team had a solid year this year. They were regular season Conference 10 champions and made it to regionals before losing to Salem High School. They also had four all-conference players, with Autrey being one.
Autrey, who is only a junior, was vital to Nansemond River’s season this year.
“It feels pretty good,” Autrey said of her accomplishment. “Especially knowing I’m the first and only one to do it in school history.”
Even though Nansemond River didn’t finish the season how they would have liked, Autrey enjoyed a very good season. She was named first-team all-conference and had a game this year where she recorded a triple-double for the team.
