Barbara Taylor G. Griggs passed away on March 21, 2017. She was the daughter of the late M. Alphonsa and Annie Grace Taylor Griggs. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald A. Griggs, and six sisters.

She graduated from Cypress High School and attended Radford College. She was member of St. John’s Episcopal Church of Chuckatuck. She worked for the city of Suffolk in the General District Court as the clerk of court and retired in 1996.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins and by David B. Gardner Jr., who was loved like a son by her.

A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Les Ferguson on Friday, March 24, 2017, at 2 p.m. in St. John’s Episcopal Church, 828 Kings Highway, Suffolk VA 23432. The burial of cremains will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the St. John’s Parish Hall.
