Man charged with soliciting minor

Suffolk police arrested a 59-year-old Suffolk man on Monday on charges that he solicited prostitution from a minor aged 16 or older.

According to Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink, Randell Daughtrey of North 5th Street was arrested after an investigation that began March 6, when officers received a complaint that a juvenile male had been approached in the 200 block of Cullodan Street by an unknown man who had attempted to solicit sexual acts from him.

Daughtrey is being held without bond at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.

Klink stated in the release that police continue to investigate the matter.
