Helene Baker Winslow, 87, passed away April 11, 2017. She was born in Belvidere, N.C., the daughter of the late Rossie M. and Elizabeth C. Baker. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Carl V. Winslow, and her son, Vernon Andrew Winslow. Helene retired after 28 years from J.C. Penney Co. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Belvidere, N.C. She attended Bethlehem Christian Church, where she was also a member of the Molly Savage Circle and the Women’s Fellowship group. She also served with Meals on Wheels for 16 years.

Helene is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Patti Winslow; grandchildren, Jason Winslow and wife, Nicole, and Josh Winslow; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Grant and another baby due in September; brothers, Rossie Vivian Baker and James D. Baker; sister-in-law, Lelia Bundy; brother-in-law, Billy Winslow; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held Friday, April 14, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Matt Winters officiating. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. at Up River Cemetery in Belvidere, N.C. Friends may join the family for a visitation Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
