Warriors get win in S.C.

Nansemond River High School’s baseball team traveled down to South Carolina this to participate in a spring break tournament.

Bryson Dansberry had one run and two hits for the Nansemond River High School Warriors in a win over West Ashley High School in a South Carolina tournament this week.

The Warriors picked up a 6-5 win Wednesday against West Ashley High School, of Charleston, S.C. The Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and carried the lead all the way into the fourth inning. Their biggest inning came in the seventh, when they poured in four runs.

Tristen Williams got the win for the Warriors on the mound. Zach Cain pitched the last three innings in relief. Cain, Williams and Zach Martin each shared pitching duties.

Nansemond River had nine hits as a team. When the Warriors return home, they will face rival Lakeland High School on the road at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
