The Nansemond River High School’s girls’ soccer team won its second conference game Friday evening at home against Gloucester High School.
It was the second consecutive conference game Nansemond River played after defeating Kecoughtan High School Thursday.
Nansemond River won the game 2-0, and its record now sits at an impressive 12-1 with a 2-0 record in the conference.
“We have been clicking well with each other,” Lady Warrior Sarah Rhiel said. “We have gotten used to everyone’s playing style, allowing us to have some great chances.”
The Lady Warriors’ confidence continues to build as they get better each game. They have a well-balanced attack which makes the team successful.
“These wins certainly help with our momentum,” Rhiel said. “We try not to think about who we are playing. We do not want to underestimate anyone. We view our competition the same no matter who we are playing.”
Next, the Lady Warriors will go on the road to face Menchville High School at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
