Police investigate robbery

Suffolk police are investigating an armed robbery that happened Friday morning.
The robbery was reported at 10:26 a.m., according to a city press release. It happened at the Check Into Cash in the 1000 block of Portsmouth Boulevard.
Preliminary investigation found a male entered the business, displayed a knife, took an undetermined amount of currency from a register and fled into a waiting vehicle.
The subject was described as black, 5 feet 5 inches tall, wearing a blue hoodie and face mask.
There were no injuries during the robbery.
