NVC wins Revolutionary Rumble

The Nansemond Volleyball Club team won the Revolutionary Rumble tournament in Williamsburg last week to end its season.

The club was a part of the 15s-age division, where there were 30 teams. It was the second time in the club’s history that it has won this tournament. With 71 aces for the whole tournament, that was a team high for the season.

They went 8-0 for the whole tournament, dropping only one set the entire tournament. The club finished its season with a 40-8 record and three tournament titles.

Liz Reese and Addy Greene led the offensive. Reese finished the weekend with 11 aces, 49 points on serve, 71 kills and 73 digs. Greene also added 23 aces, 71 points on serve, 53 kills and 50 digs. Setter Rachel Wingfield quarterbacked the tournament and had 15 aces, 42 points on serve and 167 assists.

“I am so proud of how hard this team worked and how strong they’ve finished,” coach Robyn Ross said. “This has been the most successful team in club history.”
