Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s girls’ soccer team defeated Portsmouth Christian School in the first round of the state tournament playoffs.

The Lady Saints won 8-2 at home Tuesday in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association’s Division II state tournament.

Hannah Plott had a hat trick in the victory for the Lady Saints. Two Lady Saints had two assists each.

If NSA continues to win this week, the Lady Saints will find themselves playing for a state championship on Saturday.
