John M. Boone of Carrsville died Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk.

A service celebrating his life will be held at noon May 22 at Laurel Hill United Church of Christ, 8001 South Quay Road, with the pastor Dr. Carl Sweat presiding. A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. that day. The committal, military honors and the benediction will held be in the church cemetery.
