Juanita W. Speight

Juanita Ward Speight, 95, passed away May 22, 2017. She was predeceased by parents, Cuthbert and Mary Ward, and sister, Vivian W. Felton.

She was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church and a retired elementary school teacher from Nansemond County and the city of Suffolk. She was also active in many organizations over the years.

Juanita is survived by a daughter, Judy S. Brothers (N.B.); a son, Donald C. Speight (Betty); both of Suffolk; sisters Janet W. Brown and Phyllis W. Hosier; four grandchildren, Cynthia B. Overton, Terry B. Schulz, Brianne S. Proctor and Rebecca S. Litterer; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 26, 2017, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., with a graveside service following at Holly Lawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Glenn Riggs officiating. Memorial donations can be made to Oxford United Methodist Church.
