NR tennis continues to advance

Nansemond River High School’s girls’ tennis teams continues to show its dominance.

Earlier this week, Nansemond River defeated Princess Anne High School in 5A South regional tournament play. Nansemond River’s No. 1 player, Erin Bonney, won the conference title for singles play this week by defeating her teammate, No. 2 player Zion McCoy.

It was Bonney’s third straight singles title. Bonney and McCoy defeated fellow teammates and sisters Hannah and Lauren Ramey to take the conference doubles title. From there, Nansemond River went on to shut out Hickory High School in the next round of the 5A South regionals. The Lady Warriors have advanced to the 5A South regional finals game.
