The Rev. Dr. Linwood Morings Boone was installed as the pastor of the Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ, Suffolk, on Sunday, June 4, 2017.

The Rev. Dr. Claude Odom, pastor of the New Middle Swamp Missionary Baptist Church, Corapeake, N.C., delivered an awakening message to the congregation of 300. The choir of the Laurel Hill United Church of Christ, Suffolk, under the direction of Mrs. Lorita W. Mayo, rendered the music. Worshippers were led to their seats by the Male Usher Board of the Stony Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Gates, N.C. The Rev. Randy Skeeter, pastor, of Stony Branch officiated.

The Acts of Installation were performed by representatives of the Eastern Virginia Association of the United Church of Christ, Southern District. Dr. Boone’s installation as pastor of the Corinth Chapel Church continues a century-long working relationship between the two churches.

The Installation Service concluded with the singing of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

Dr. and Mrs. Linwood Boone and the Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ Church family invited all to join them in the fellowship hall for the social hour.
