Starting early Monday, crews will close Whippingham Parkway in Isle of Wight County in order to replace the bridge over Ragged Island Creek, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

That closure is expected to last through November, and a signed detour will be in place.

All homeowners will have access to their homes from either Route 17 or Channell Way.

Crews will be replacing two pre-existing box culverts with a two-lane bridge.
