Two killed in Godwin Bridge crash

Two men were killed in a multi-vehicle accident on the Godwin Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Paul E. Shinabery, 57, of Smithfield and Donald A. Mohorn, 56, of Hampton were killed in the afternoon crash that closed the roadway in both directions for six hours.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to a city press release.

Three additional adults, two men and a woman, were taken to a hospital, with one listed in critical condition and the other two listed in serious condition, according to Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink.

The accident took place at 3:05 p.m. and involved three passenger vehicles and a pickup truck, Klink stated in a press release.

Shinabery was driving a Toyota Camry, and Mohorn was a passenger in that vehicle.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, Klink stated.
