Forgery suspects arrested

Two Suffolk residents and a Smithfield resident turned themselves in Tuesday after seeing reports that they were wanted on charges.
Suffolk police said the three suspects were convincing members of the public to provide their debit cards and PINs with the promise of free money. The suspects then deposited fraudulent checks into the account before making withdrawals, according to a city press release.
Maya Jilvonnie Rodgers, 21, of Suffolk, is charged with three counts of forgery, three counts of uttering and one count of obtaining money by false pretense.
Daron Lindelle Gary, 27, of Suffolk, is charged with one count of forgery, one count of uttering, one count of obtaining money by false pretense and one count of conspiracy to commit a felony.
Kevon Latrel Anderson, 20, of Smithfield, is charged with two counts of forgery, two counts of uttering and two counts of obtaining money by false pretense.
According to the city press release, the three turned themselves in at police headquarters on Tuesday afternoon and were interviewed and arrested.
