Carr named to president’s list
Catalina Velez Carr of Suffolk has been named to the president’s list at Clemson University for the spring 2017 semester.
Carr is majoring in parks, recreation and tourism management.
To be named to the president’s list, a student must achieve a 4.0 grade-point average.
9 from Suffolk earn Chowan degrees
Chowan University graduated 217 students, including eight from Suffolk, on May 6. One associate degree, 209 bachelor degrees, and seven master degrees were awarded.

Antwi named to dean’s list
David Antwi of Suffolk was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at The College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee, Mass.
To qualify, a full-time student must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher, without incompletes.
Westray named to dean’s list
Jay F. Westray of Suffolk has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Lincoln University of Missouri.
In order to qualify for the dean’s list a student must acquire at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, with a minimum of 12 credit hours in qualifying course work.
